On 10/16/2020 Marion was special called at 4:44 to assist Huron Fire Dept. with a large corn field fire. The field was being brush hogged at the time of the fire. Lawrence County was under a red flag warning at the time of the fire. Marion responded with Squad 54, Squad 55, Squad 56, Tanker 53 and Engine 51 with 10 firefighters. The fire burnt approximately 15 - 20 acres.

Marion was called as automatic mutual aid to the City of Mitchell for a working structure fire. Marion arrived with Engine 52, Tanker 53 and Squad 55 to assist Mitchell Fire. Engine 52 assisted crews with fire attack while Tanker 53 established a water supply. Tanker 53 crew then moved to roof ventilation while Squad 55 crew assisted with interior operations. All occupants were out of the structure upon arrival and there were no reported injuries.

Units were on scene for several hours to bring the fire under control. Structure was a pole barn type construction with a residence above a garage. Structure was heavily involved on arrival of the first fire units. Extensive salvage and overhaul was performed.

As crews attacked the fire a collapse occured inside the residence and part of the main floor fell Into the basement. It was determined conditions were unsafe and crews were moved to a defensive attack on the structure. There was no entrapment in the structure and no injuries were reported

Crews were called to the site of a previous fire from a month ago in the dead end section of Greenwood retreat. Structure both times was a 20 by 70 single wide trailer used for storage.
